Our Story
Love and Gratitude began on July 7, 2010, when Josmanie Weche Vincent and her family traveled to Haiti on a church mission trip to Corail. During their first few days there, Josmanie started getting to know the children in the neighborhood. She soon discovered that many of these young children stayed home all day because their parents couldn’t afford to send them to school.
This realization inspired Josmanie Weche Vincent to launch this successful mission with a specific goal in mind.
Since then, the mission has established several wonderful programs throughout the Corail region. In 2009, Mrs. Vincent and her sister, Ruth Weche, organized a two-week English course for the children. At the end of the course, the children received certificates celebrating their accomplishments. It was amazing to see how eager the kids were to learn a new language.
In July 2010, Mrs. Vincent also put together a talent show for the children, where she discovered various talents among them. When Josmanie returned to the United States, she began to rally support from her family and friends to further help these children.
In 2021, Love and Gratitude organization launched an ESL class for Haitian immigrants and other international Haitians via Zoom. Annually, Love and Gratitude enrolls over 20 students. Celebrating their success at the end of each school year and awarding certificates for their accomplishments is always a highlight.

Goals and Objectives
Our main goal is to ensure access to education for all the children of Corail, Haiti. We started Love and Gratitude with 10 students and had double the number of sponsored children by 2012, ranging from 4-17 year olds. Among them are teenagers who have never attended school before. We want to continue supporting these children and see them through completion of their primary education. In addition to covering their tuition, uniforms, and books, we would like to include a meal plan to sustain their nutrition. Another goal is to provide financial support to the parents by helping them create small businesses. To that end, we want to provide the parents with small loans to help them start off. Finally, we would like to build a vocational school, where our children can learn proper skills upon completing their grade school. This would provide valuable and long-term gains for their lives and communities
